COVID-19 In-Person Session Information

My office is taking the following precautions to protect our patients and help slow the spread of the coronavirus:

  • We are limiting in-person sessions to one client per day, or providing sufficient amounts of time between clients to properly sanitize the office. All services that can be completed over the phone or through video conferencing will continue through those methods. In-person sessions will be prioritized for clients requiring standardized testing that cannot be completed from a distance.

  • Only the client will be allowed in the office. Parents will be required to meet the psychologist in the reception area to complete the screening and consent form. Parents are encouraged to wait in their car or outside during the session. Parents waiting in the reception area must wear a mask.

  • The therapy/testing room has been arranged for appropriate physical distancing. The psychologist will attempt to maintain two meters distance from the client as much as possible. Some aspects of testing require the psychologist to turn pages in a book or present materials to the child. A plexiglass divider will be used. Physical contact is not permitted.

  • Clients will be encouraged to wear masks at all time during the session. Clients will be required to wear a mask when entering the building, waiting room and walking through the office. You are welcome (and encouraged) to bring a cloth mask or a disposable mask from home. Hand sanitizer will be used throughout the session.

  • Tissues and trash bins are easily accessed. Trash is disposed of on a frequent basis. The office will be cleaned before and after each client. All testing materials will be sanitized before and after use. Common areas are thoroughly disinfected at the end of each day.

  • Clients will not be able to bring a snack or eat during the assessment session. Sessions will be kept short to accommodate regular meals and snack times.

  • Only contactless payment options will be available (i.e., card on file or e-transfer).
